Saturday, January 9, 2010 @ A little something for fellow band members and alumnis
The band room has never been SO packed from what I see ever since I first stepped into the band room. Of course, this day would not have been possible if not for a few groups of people. I would very much like to thank the following groups of people mentioned below:
Firstly, I would like to thank Mr Chiang, for spending much time searching for the wonderful pieces that we played today and of course, for actively promoting the tune-in event to various bands, accounting for the sudden influx of fellow juniors from several schools, which livened up the atmosphere in the band room especially while we were playing the pieces.
Secondly, I would like to thank Mr Paolo and other band teachers-in-charge for helping out in the administrative stuff in the period of time immediately after band fest in which lots of administrative stuff had to be settled. Also, thanks to the graciousness and the helping hand in which Mr Paolo has lent us, the band room would not have such a thing called the 'Cosy Corner'. Though small, its definitely not insignificant as it added colours to the previously dull-looking band room.
Thirdly, I would like to thank the alumnis for taking their time off from their very busy schedule to join us in this wonderful event and for helping us in certain areas of music. Also, if not for their advertising, i believe the band room would not be as crowded as what we saw today.
Furthermore, I would like to thank all the band members for actively participating in the band practices although this week should have been used for catching up on holiday assignments and also revision for back-to-school tests. Also. I would like to thank you all for helping to persuade your juniors and friends to attend the band festival.
Lastly, I would like to thank the Excos for putting aside so,so,so much time meant for homework, revision and other stuff in preparation for this day and also for putting in so,so,so much hard work in helping to clear up tons of rubbish from the band room(definitely not exaggerating). Also, if not for you all, the tune-in would not have been as successful as today.
Of course, today would not turn out to be so eventful without EVERYONE. Without all your efforts, this day would not have been possible:)
Now that the tune-in is over, it is time to work towards our next goal: Our very own TPJCSW concert sometime in May! I'm sure all of you would want it to be a memorable and enjoyable experience. So, spend these few remaining days(actually its 1 day) catching up on sleep and also to catch up on school stuff. Band practices will officially resume next friday(15th Jan) and be prepared for a busy year ahead(oh well,JC life is like that).
Have a good rest everyone and hope to see you soon!:)
